To Frostpaw, Curlfeather seems to be everything a cat could want in a mother. She’s fiercely loving, brave and confident as a warrior, and was the first to spot Frostpaw’s apparent connection to StarClan, supporting her daughter in becoming Mothwing’s apprentice and encouraging her to interpret the signs of her ancestors. But when a horrible attack rips Curlfeather away from the cats she claimed to love, Frostpaw is left to wonder what dark truth lies behind her final warning “to trust no cat” – and to wonder whether she ever truly knew her mother at all.
